Capstone Video Showcase 2026¶

This year the students in the Senior Capstone course developed 39 apps. There are:

23 web applications using technologies such as Django, node, express, Angular, react, Vue, firebase, AWS.
8 Android or iOS mobile apps using technologies such as Android Studio, Flutter, React Native, XCode, Firebase.
8 desktop games using technologies such as Unity, GameMaker.

AiM CMMS Companion App ¶

The AiM CMMS Companion App is a Django-based web application that uses AI to summarize and manage work order data. It features a multi-page interface for tracking maintenance tasks and provides summaries to help users understand complex facility management information.

Bambuu ¶

"Bambuu" is a mobile application for gamers to find and match with others who have similar interests and experience levels. It uses a "trust rating" algorithm and a "swipe and match" mechanic to connect players, allowing them to message and exchange information to play games together.

Blender Collab ¶

"Blender Collab" is a web-based version control system for Blender that enables teams to collaborate on 3D projects. It exports Blender objects as JSON and stores mesh data in S3, allowing for granular version management and object-level locking.

Byte Breaker ¶

Byte_Club is a Unity-based game featuring player and enemy health systems, damage mechanics, and movement. It includes automated tests for player health, movement, and projectiles.

CampusConnect ¶

"CampusConnect" is a centralized student platform that consolidates class schedules, assignments, dining, shuttle tracking, and events into one dashboard. It aims to simplify student life by helping them save time and stay engaged with their campus community.

Cartly ¶

"Cartly" is a mobile application designed to help shoppers locate products within stores and compare prices between different locations. It also generates optimal shopping routes to help users find their items using the shortest possible path through the store.

Courtside ¶

"Courtside" is a basketball management application that enables users to create teams, play games, and develop the skills of their players. It provides tools for team growth and gameplay simulation, allowing users to experience the tactical side of basketball management.

CSIET Member Database ¶

This web application is a member-focused database for CSIET students to manage profiles and for partner companies to browse approved talent. It features a React frontend and an Express/MongoDB backend, including administrative tools for managing landing page content and member data.

CurlFriend ¶

"CurlFriend" is a fitness tracker web application where users can log gym progress and share workouts. It also features a calendar for scheduling custom meal plans and workouts to help users stay on track with their goals.

DayPlanner ¶

"DayPlanner" is a cross-platform mobile scheduling app that helps users manage daily tasks, events, and social plans. It features calendar views for daily and monthly planning, friend scheduling, and an AI-powered chatbot assistant to streamline task management.

Do You Wanna Go ¶

"Do You Wanna Go" is an interactive calendar platform that connects local businesses with event-goers. It allows users to meet new people and attend events together while providing businesses with marketing tools and performance tracking.

Duck Planner ¶

"Duck Planner" is a travel planning web application that allows users to create, organize, and manage their trips. It features an AI-assisted planning component and a React-based interface to help travelers stay organized throughout their journey.

Dyslexia Accessibility Extension ¶

This browser extension is a dyslexia accessibility tool built with TypeScript and React to help users adjust text for better readability. It allows users to type text, adjust font sizes with a slider, and see live updates to improve their reading experience on the web.

EmberRoost ¶

EmberRoost is a desktop-first notes application that runs a local Django server and provides a minimal web-based dashboard for organizing information. It is designed to be bundled as a standalone Windows executable for easy local hosting and access through a browser.

"Facet" is a SaaS platform for building and publishing lightweight public portfolios and resumes with AI assistance. It features a template-based design system, multiple components like projects and contact cards, and allows users to publish their portfolios to public URLs.

Flowstart ¶

FlowStart is a productivity and idle game application that helps users balance work and break time. Users earn points and coins by completing tasks, which can be used to customize an in-game avatar, all within a native desktop app built with the Tauri framework.

Forgotten Labyrinth ¶

"Forgotten Labyrinth" is a 2D roguelike game where players explore a procedural labyrinth, fight enemies, and collect loot. It features a rarity system for items, a leaderboard for competition, and strategical gameplay that changes with every run.

GameVerse ¶

"GameVerse" is a social media application designed for gamers to connect through a feed, party finding, groups, and messaging. It aims to provide multiple ways for users to interact and interact with each other in a social gaming environment.

GarnetSky Recipes ¶

GarnetSky is a recipe management application that allows users to store, organize, and share their favorite cooking recipes. It features a React frontend and a Node/Express backend, with built-in tools for backing up database data into local JSON files.

GigSync ¶

"GigSync" is an all-in-one event planning application specifically designed for musicians, bands, and DJs to manage bookings and tour dates. It helps performers coordinate schedules, manage setlists, and maintain communication with team members and venues in one unified platform.

HabitForge ¶

"HabitForge" is a mobile habit-tracking application that helps students and young professionals build long-term consistency through streak tracking and progress visualization. It uses natural language input for quick habit creation and synchronizes data across devices for seamless access.

Haunted Notes ¶

"Haunted Notes" is a rhythm-based action game with a spooky theme where players avoid haunted objects in time with the music. Each level features unique songs and monsters, requiring quick reactions and precise timing to gain power-ups and defeat enemies.

Healio ¶

Healio is a health management web application designed for people with diabetes to track glucose readings, medications, meals, and activity. It provides data visualization to help users monitor trends and allows for secure sharing of insights with caregivers.

Kill the Hero ¶

"Kill the Hero" is a web-based trading card game (TCG) that blends collectible card mechanics with strategic board movement. Players advance heroes across a board, playing cards to strengthen themselves or hinder opponents, with victory achieved by defeating a villain or the opposing hero.

Pathways ¶

"Pathways" is a campus navigation and academic planning application that helps students find efficient routes and organize their schedules. It features interactive mapping, real-time traffic info, and an AI-powered chatbot to bridge the gap between students and campus resources.

PhysiqueIQ ¶

"PhysiqueIQ" is a mobile app for tracking physique progress using guided photos, measurements, and AI-assisted analysis. It helps users monitor their body changes over time with secure data storage and OpenAI-powered insights.

Rent Connect ¶

Rent Connect is a cross-platform mobile application that matches students with housing and roommates. It features AI-powered matching, interactive maps, real-time messaging, and property reviews.

ResuMate ¶

"ResuMate" is an organization-focused resume screening tool that uses natural language processing to analyze candidate resumes against job postings. It provides recruiters with a dashboard to rank applicants, detect bias, and identify skill gaps in a streamlined hiring workflow.

RoyalFlush ¶

"RoyalFlush" is a strategic chess variant where gameplay is driven by movement, active, and passive cards that modify standard chess rules. Players win by capturing the opponent's king, but each turn is shaped by the cards they draw, adding layers of tactical depth to the classic game.

Shelf Life ¶

"Shelf Life" is a grocery management app that allows users to scan receipts to auto-populate a virtual pantry with expiration dates. It also provides personalized recipe suggestions based on current pantry items, helping users reduce food waste and plan meals more efficiently.

SkillSwap ¶

"SkillSwap" is a community-driven web application where users can trade skills with each other, such as language learning or music lessons. It features direct messaging, swap request management, and personalized recommendations to help users connect and share their expertise.

Sport Predictor ¶

"Sport Predictor" is a web app that utilizes team statistics to help users predict match outcomes across various sports. It features team comparisons, match predictions, and trivia games to enhance the user experience and provide data-driven sports insights.

StockSense ¶

StockSense is an AI-powered stock sentiment and portfolio platform. It combines market news sentiment with stock price data to help users track portfolios, monitor alerts, and understand how sentiment relates to returns.

SynapseSpur ¶

SynapseSpur is a 3D single-player wave survival action game built in Godot where players fight infinite enemy waves. Players choose from classes like Mage, Knight, or Archer and earn coins and XP to unlock new abilities, weapons, and cosmetics.

Synchro ¶

"Synchro Mobile" is a cross-platform mobile application that allows coaches to manage athletes and track performance, health, and training data. It provides a shared platform for multiple departments to monitor athlete metrics and is built to integrate with a centralized Azure-hosted backend.

TaxPort ¶

"TaxPort" is a tax document management portal designed to simplify the organization and submission of tax files for both clients and CPAs. It includes features for tracking needed documents by year, viewing bills, and securely messaging a tax professional through a unified dashboard.

Terrain Trail ¶

"Terrain Trail" is a web app that allows users to plot and rate campus routes for walking, biking, or driving. Routes are rated by terrain and accessibility to help users find the most efficient paths at the University of South Carolina.

Theater Critic ¶

"Theater Critic" is a movie and TV show review website that allows users to rate media and receive personalized recommendations based on their input. It emphasizes a customizable aesthetic and layout to provide a unique browsing experience tailored to each user's tastes.

Wash Your Rice ¶

"Wash Your Rice" is a horror game made in Unreal Engine 5 where players must solve puzzles at a computer to survive a nightmare. The game features various enemies and sanity management mechanics, challenging players to escape their room while dealing with the consequences of their actions.
